It’s Spring in Fairfax! New Activities for Seniors

April 22, 2011

Adult Day Services are something we in Virginia believe helps boost the spirits of our clients.

The beautiful finished product made by our clients!

In a previous post of ours, we explained the benefits of adult day services for our elderly parents. Well, while in the “let’s try new things spirit,” Home Instead Senior Care clients in Fairfax painted small pots for plants. Our clients loved sitting down and being taught how to complete a fun project they can use.

Clients left with completed pots and seeds to start their own (very small) garden.

Seniors appreciate the opportunity to spend their time doing something fun and productive. Additionally, seniors can mingle with their peers and make new friends. Most services also offer snacks and meals, as well as inexpensive transportation to and from their facilities.

Have you ever considered hosting a senior activity day? Have any tips for our readers? Share them with us below or on our Caregiver Forum.
